![]() ![]() It’s okay, not a powerhouse capstone like other Domains. Okay, this makes a 2nd level feature a little bit better. Note that at 18th level, the damage increases to 2d8.Īt 17th level, you get 4 Duplicates instead of 1. I wouldn’t use this feature a lot, but I might use it once a blue moon. A lot of people hate the fact that Trickster clerics get this feature and the fact that poison damage is the extra damage type (poison is basically the worst damage type). This feature’s okay, not amazing.Īt 8th level, you get Divine Strike. Basically Disengage, but a little bit better. I apologize for that little misconception.Īt 6th level, you get another Channel Divinity that turns you invisible until the end of your next turn. Other than that, this feature rocks.Įdit: After I made this post, I realized that there are quite a few concentration spells on the cleric spell list. This uses your concentration (which is fine, clerics don’t get too many concentration spells), requires you to see the Duplicate to cast spells through it (just hide in a corner, peek out, and step back in), and it requires a bonus action to move it. They are there to turn the party into stealth experts, which I think is more important.Īt 2nd level, you get a Channel Divinity that allows you to create an illusory duplicate (think Loki) that follows your command and you can cast spells through it. What? That’s amazing! That means you can cast touch spells like Cure Wounds without being in melee range, you never have to be in close range ever again. ![]() So, the Trickster cleric is not there to be a stealth expert. ![]() I mean, I would consider putting this on a party member wearing heavy armor to cancel out the disadvantage on stealth. You can use this feature at will, but on one ally at a time. ![]() But there are some gems in this Domain.Īt 1st level, you can give one of your allies advantage on Stealth checks for 1 hour. Subclass FeaturesĪ lot of people say that the subclass features of the Trickery Domain aren’t very good. But they are free spells, so who am I to complain. Polymorph as a free spell alone makes Trickster clerics one of the best domains in the game.Īt 9th level, you get Dominate Person and Modify Memory. These are both single target spells and if they make their saves, nothing happens. So, it is a buff spell that give more hit points (basically a healing spell) and you can turn enemies into mice (if they fail their saving throw). This can turn your allies into King Kong or a T-Rex. Dispel Magic is situational, but great to have in those situations.Īt 7th level, you get Dimension Door and Polymorph. Dimension Door is a good way to move yourself where you want to be and take an ally with you. On the other hand, Pass without Trace is a great spell that turns your entire party into +10 or more stealth ninjas.Īt 5th level, you get Blink and Dispel Magic. Blink is another good defensive spell that can keep you safe, which is important if you are the party’s healer. I mean, Santuary’s good, but not as good as Mirror Image. Mirror Image is a great defensive spell and that’s important because Clerics don’t get a lot of good defensive spells. In fact, there are almost no bad spells in the Trickster spells.Īt 1st level, you get Charm Person and Disguise Self. Both of these spells are situational, but nice to have in those situations.Īt 3rd level, you get Mirror Image and Pass without Trace. The domain spells that Trickster clerics get are pretty good. In this post, I’m going to tell you why I think that. I happen to think it is one of the best cleric subclasses. A lot of people think this is the worst Cleric subclass. Now, the Trickery Domain is the most criticized Cleric domains in 5e. Today, I want to talk about Trickster Clerics. Hello, welcome back to the Apprentice’s Guide. ![]()
